irv and i just wanted to thank you all for your support! we hope you had a good time at the wedding. =) we know we did! heehee…it was great seeing so many of our loved ones there. thank you again for your support and encouragement!

this isn’t directly wedding-related, but it was driven heavily by our impending marriage. heehee…*drum roll, please*
we’re in escrow!! yes, i said, escrow. it’s almost surreal. WOOHOO! we started looking at homes in january, and have seen at least 25 homes by now. last sunday, we saw a home we liked, placed a bid on monday, and by late friday, had an acceptance from the seller. =) we’re really really excited! we’re already on day 4 of a 30-day escrow so time is flying by. we’ll get the keys to the house about 12-14 days before our wedding? so we’re cramming a lot of big life changes into a 2 week period. heehee…=)
once we get settled in (and married and back from our honeymoon), we’ll start hosting some housewarming parties. =)
happy new year everyone! it’s hard to believe, but 2008 is here already. i hope you all had a safe and happy christmas and new year’s!
there’s less than 3 months to go before our wedding/the start of our new marriage. eeks! we’re also looking for a place to buy/live, so that’s going to add some extra excitement to this process. heehee…=)
we’ve really enjoyed the long(er) engagement, since it’s given us the opportunity to relax and just be content with being engaged. i kept joking with irv that i needed time to mentally and emotionally prepare myself for being married. after all, he IS the more mature one. heehee…with there being less than a few months remaining until the wedding/start of our marriage, reality is setting in. it’s actually going to happen…and soon!! =)
my sisters hosted a wonderful bridal shower for me over the christmas break. it was a lot of fun. it was great seeing so many of my girl friends. =) thank you, amy and sarah, for throwing me such a fun bridal shower! i know irv was amused by the “place the lips/kiss on irv” game. heehee…at least i came in 2nd! =)
we really look forward to celebrating this big step in our lives with all of our loved ones! see you soon. =)
We’re registered!
Actually we’ve been registered for a while, but we have been talking about updating the registry to remove some of the out of date/hard to find items, so we figured it was a good time to make a page!

- Received invitations. I designed a simple map with written directions on the back… we printed those out and started building the invitations up. Now to practice the calligraphy/cursive writing =P
- Picked out chair and table covers. I think the neutral color we ended up choosing will work out better than if we had stuck with the plain white. Well, the white chairs will give it some contrast anyway. This should work out well, given that we are saving a bunch of money over using the site-provided covers, AND we’re getting better quality stuff.
- Ordered wedding stamps. Dang, who knew mailing out wedding stuff could be so expensive? At least we are planning on handing out a bunch to our friends and whatnot.
With all this done, we’re still entering crunch time! We need to meet with the pastor some more, finalize the music, programs, and meet with the DJ…

We finally ordered our invites. It’s not that we hadn’t found one that we liked, but the whole getting around to ordering them was the whole delay.
Left to do I guess is to follow up with our pastor, figuring out something for placards, and finalizing our guest lists.
Five months to go already!
This past Wednesday we had our food tasting at the site. I’m not sure what I expected, maybe something smaller, but it was an all out event. By my estimation, I would say about 20 or so couples (+family/friends) showed up.
We did get to try five different appetizers (3 which we liked, one we were on the fence on, and one definite NO), along with a buffet with a few selections of salmon and chicken, and of course their side dishes.
The serving also included a petite duet plate with shrimp scampi and baby filet mignon. Not bad.
Afterward we were served cake from Ramona bakery (which was pretty good), followed by a second layer, and a third! Cake overload, redux!
Luckily we also found a vendor for the tablecloths and chair covers that might help us save a few bucks, while going a bit nicer on the materials.
Wow, six months to go, can you believe it?
there’s only a little more than 6 months to go. wowee! time is flying by!
we’re basically almost set for the wedding itself. we’re just not set for the whole “what-happens-after-the-wedding” part, such as where we’re going to live, etc. yikes! we haven’t even decided upon our honeymoon location yet, but we’re looking for something tropical like the carribean or fiji. we just need to actually book something since time’s a-ticking. =) the housing thing is the real doozy. that’s going to be more stressful than the wedding itself since we actually would like to buy a home! heehee…=)
i’m getting really excited for our wedding though. =) i can’t wait for the par-tay! heehee…just kidding. kinda. =) i’m looking forward to celebrating this big moment with all of my loved ones. i know irv is too…=)
the last major vendor has been booked. we’ve been toiling and toiling over this florist decision for months now, since we had 2 good choices. we finally selected one, and paid the 10% deposit. WOOHOO! i’m so excited. i’m really happy with our choice. =) whew! it’s such a relief to have all the big stuff done. =)
next week begins our pre-marital counseling after church. wish us luck! =) heehee…it should be a very helpful class.
and we ordered a sample of the invitation that we like, so it’s almost invite ordering time. heehee…=)
